ProXL, the leading provider of refinishing and painting products for the automotive and industrial sectors, has relocated to a new 38,000 square foot facility in Sheerness, Kent. The purpose-built site houses office and warehouse space spread across two floors, it brings every aspect of the thriving business together under one, larger roof – the equivalent of nearly three Olympic-sized swimming pools.
The upgrade from Sittingbourne’s Eurolink Industrial Centre to Walbrook Business Park in Minster on Sea, Sheerness, falls inline with the successful expansion of the ProXL brand. The new Isle of Sheppey location is located less than 10-miles away from the unit it replaces, however, it is more than twice its size, eliminating ProXL’s need for a second 5000 square foot warehouse offsite. It is hoped that this efficient approach will streamline logistics while cutting overall energy consumption and reducing carbon emissions.
Further aligning with the UK’s trend towards environmentally-friendly warehouses and industrial facilities, the new Walbrook Business Park has been created with a focus on sustainability. Its highly insulated buildings, including ProXL’s new headquarters, feature reduced permeability, increasing heating and cooling efficiency, while advanced water-saving systems add further “green” credentials. The new business park has also been designed to be in keeping with its surroundings, reducing its impact on the landscape.
Working with design and build specialist, AW Spaces in Farringdon, the bespoke interior space inside Unit 6 has been fitted out with partitioned office zones, a large board room, and a giant warehouse – ready to house ProXL’s popular range of refinishing products. In addition, the ground floor boasts a state of the art paint spray booth, photography and creative studio that sit alongside an integrated product testing and development are – here the next generation of ProXL products will be put through their paces.[Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]Jim Bruce, Managing Director, ProXL, said: “We are delighted to redouble our commitment to Kent with the move to this brand new site at Minster on Sea, Sheerness. The rapid expansion of ProXL continues to take the automotive and industrial sectors by storm, in order for that to continue we felt it was necessary to invest in enhanced facilities. Our new home gives ProXL room to continue its impressive growth.”
